How Anna’s House is growing with lending support from Consumers

After Owner and CEO Josh Beckett bought the original Anna’s House on Plainfield Avenue in Grand Rapids in 2005, he tailored the menu to meet the dietary preferences of the community.

People loved it! And, they wanted more.

Over the next 12 years, he opened five more locations. Two in Grand Rapids, and one each in Holland, Kalamazoo and Westland. All together, they employ 300 people.

“I was a huge fan of Anna’s House prior to serving their business,” said Consumers Business Development Manager Jeremy Prins. “It’s the best breakfast in town, and I look forward to watching them thrive as they grow into new markets.”

100% better than banks

About a year ago, Josh moved his finances from a big bank to Consumers.

“I’m a huge fan of credit unions versus banks,” he said. “I like that members are owners – it’s 100% better than banks.”

Since joining Consumers, the number of Anna’s House locations have increased 50%.
