Consumers Credit Union Breaks Ground on Breton Road
Kalamazoo, Mich. – Consumers Credit Union broke ground in May on a new 2,143-square-foot building located at 1835 Breton Road SE, Grand Rapids. This marks the fifth office for the credit union in the Grand Rapids market and will offer the same contemporary look, service and latest banking technologies for which existing Consumers’ locations are known.
The credit union worked with Bosch Architecture of Kalamazoo to create a state-of-the-art design that brings together technology and inviting spaces for one-to-one interaction. The building’s brick exterior will feature large curtain walls of glass to allow for natural light throughout the facility, while the interior design invites you into an open lobby concept with a variety of meeting spaces for financial consultations.
The office will introduce a new model of self-service Interactive Tellers in the lobby for speedy banking. These machines allow for all-in-one service with the aid of a highly trained member service representative right at your side (versus a screen).
“We know everyone likes to bank how they want, when they want,” said Consumers Chief Operations Officer Scott Sylvester. “Our use of the latest in technology with high interaction face-to-face brings easy and excellence to every financial transaction.”
The new office is expected to open in quarter four. Lobby hours will be Monday through Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.; Thursday and Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Full-service assistance with mortgages, business banking, investments and more will be available.
Members using the drive-thrus will experience extended service hours Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. thanks to two outside Interactive Tellers. These serve as 24/7 ATMs, even dispensing multiple denominations, or members can select to engage with a live teller via two-way video assistance for more complex transactions, including:
- Cash advances and currency exchange
- Loan payments
- Transaction research
- Receipts with deposited check image
Copper Rock of Grand Rapids is the contractor on the project.
